KEEPING your PIN safe.

A debit card is a great convenience. It allows easy access to your funds in your account from almost any major population center in Jamaica at hundreds of ABM and thousands of POS terminals.

Your debit card is a tool to access your account and should be treated with care and be protected as much as you would cash. Here are a few guidelines to ensuring the security of your card.

Keep the card in  a safe place or in your possession.

Do not share the PIN for the card with  anyone. Not family members, friends or even the staff of financial institutions - it is YOUR personal identification and should be known only by you.

Do not write down the PIN on the back of the card nor should you write it on/or stick it in the card case - this is to protect you in case of loss or theft of your card.

It is highly recommended that you do not use your birth date as this is easy for family and friends to guess, and if your driver's license also accessible to a thief then guessing your PIN will be very easy.
